Why is my brew basket leaking?
There are multiple reasons the brew basket might be leaking:

Reason 1:
Using both the permanent filter and a paper filter together can cause grounds to clog, and water to back up in the filter holder. Use only the permanent filter, or a paper filter.

Reason 2:
Using too much ground coffee can cause the brew basket to overflow or leak.

Reason 3:
The brew basket may not be fully closed. To ensure the brew basket is fully closed, push it in until you feel a "click" or "bump."

Reason 4:
If the brew basket is dripping after the brew is complete, move the to the closed position (denoted by the image of a water droplet with a slash through it) before removing your brewing vessel to avoid drips.

Reason 5:
Check to see if there is a circular rubber gasket on the inside of the filter holder. If it is missing, that would cause the brew basket to leak. A new filter holder is needed.

Why do I get inconsistent brew volumes with the different brew styles?
Each size and brew type produces a different amount of coffee to optimize strength and taste. For example, Rich brew will yield less coffee than Classic Brew, while Over Ice produces a concentrated amount of coffee that is then poured over ice. Specialty brew will always produce 4 oz.

Why did my vessel (cup or travel mug) overflow?
Regardless of your chosen brew style, ensure you are using at least a 12-oz. cup for the Cup size, 14-oz. cup for the XL Cup size, 16-oz. travel mug for the Travel Mug size, and 20-oz. travel mug for the XL Multi-Serve size.

Why did my unit stop brewing?
During a brew, there will be a pause—that is ok. The pause is part of the preinfusion cycle that unlocks the full flavor of your coffee by evenly saturating the coffee grounds.

Why did the majority of my ice melt when brewing Over Ice?
When brewing Over Ice, please do the following:

Be sure to fill your vessel to the top with whole iced cubes (not crushed or shaved ice) before brewing Over Ice.

Be sure you are using the correct-size vessel, and you are filling it to the top with ice cubes. (Use at least a 12-oz. cup for the Cup size, 14-oz. cup for the XL Cup size, 16-oz. travel mug for the Travel Mug size, and 20-oz. travel mug for the XL Multi-Serve size.)

Why is my unit making a "gurgling" noise at the start of a coffee brew?
This is normal operation, as the boiler is heating up to brew your chosen beverage choice. If the unit steams and gurgles excessively throughout the entire brew, consider running an altitude calibration.

Why was there a burst of steam from the brew basket during my first brew?
During your first brew, you may see a burst of steam from the brew basket. This is because the boiler is dry. After priming your unit with two Full Carafe, Classic Brew cycles with water only, the issue should no longer occur.

Why is there not enough coffee in my cup?
Each size and brew type produces a different amount of coffee to optimize strength and taste. For example, Rich brew will yield less coffee than Classic brew, while Over Ice produces a concentrated amount of coffee that drips over ice to create an iced coffee that is never watered down. Specialty brew will always produce 4 oz.

Why did the clean light come back on too quickly?
The boiler may have scale (mineral buildup due to hard water) present. Be sure to use a cleaning solution (descaling solution for coffee-maker cleaning or white vinegar), and water when running a clean cycle.
