If my unit comes with a permanent coffee filter, do I need to also use a paper filter?
No, a paper filter and the permanent filter should NOT be used together when brewing coffee. Using both the permanent filter and a paper filter may result in clogging or water and/or coffee backing up in the brew basket.

Why is my Over Ice brew not brewed cold?
Ensure your cup, travel mug, or carafe is filled all the way to the top with ice cubes before brewing. Your Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker will brew at elevated temperatures to lock in the best flavor, then the ice will cool the brewed coffee or tea to the perfect temperature.

Why is there no warming plate on the thermal carafe model?
The thermal carafe has double-walled insulation, which keeps heat locked inside. The insulation barrier means the heat from the warming plate will not reach the inside of the carafe or affect the temperature of the coffee.

Do I need to use the brew-through lid in the carafe?
Yes, we recommend using the brew-through lid as it helps maintain the carafe temperature, and to deliver optimal flavor. If the lid is not used, or is not properly in place, heat could escape from the carafe, causing the coffee to cool rapidly.

How do I froth milk using the Ninja Easy Frother?
  • Start by adding 6 oz. or less of cold milk to the glass jar.
  • For hot froth, remove black frother press prior to placing the glass jar in the microwave. Then microwave the milk based on the following microwave wattage: 700–900 watts: 60–75 seconds, 1000–1200 watts: 45–60 seconds.

CAUTION: Glass surface will be hot to touch after heating the liquid in the microwave. Use care when handling the jar.
  • Place the frother press into the glass jar and secure the lid. Ensure the pouring holes are turned away from spout lid when frothing to prevent milk from splashing out.
  • Pump the frother press for 20 to 30 seconds to create velvety-smooth microfroth for your specialty drinks. For best results, keep the bottom end of the frother press submerged below the surface of the milk while pumping.
  • Pour microfroth into your mug or drinking glass. Top make a layered drink, pour the microfroth first and then brew over it.
  • For more of an integrated drink, brew coffee first, then add microfroth. Enjoy your frothed milk or cream in your favorite Ninja coffee beverages.
