Easy Pizza Dough:
Makes one pizza crust
So incredibly easy when you make it in your Ninja® Kitchen System 1100! Start with this basic dough to make pizza crust, focaccia bread, calzones, rolls and bread sticks.
1/4 oz. pkg. dry active yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2/3 cup water, warmed to 110-115° F
1/4 cup canola oil (substitute olive oil)
2 cups all-purpose flour
Place the yeast, salt, sugar and water in the bowl. Pulse on for 10 seconds. Add the oil and flour, 1 cup at a time, pulsing on until the dough is smooth and no lumps remain. Transfer the dough to a lightly-oiled bowl and cover. Let rise for about 1 hour.
If you are making a high-rise pizza dough, punch the dough down and let rise again for 45 minutes. If not, eliminate the second rising and spread the dough onto a pizza pan or baking sheet that has been lightly coated with cooking spray.
Add sauce and toppings as preferred and bake at 425*F for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned and the toppings and cheese are hot.
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Makes about 3 Quarts
Grind whole vanilla beans quickly in your Ninja® Blender and add to this ice cream for authentic flavor. This recipe will fill a 5-quart freezer.
4 whole vanilla beans
2 1/2 cups whole milk
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups light cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
5 cups heavy cream
Place the vanilla beans in the pitcher and pulse on until the beans are fairly ground. Remove the beans and set aside. Clean the blender and dry.
In a large saucepan, scald the whole milk. Remove from the heat and cool. Pour the milk into the pitcher and add the sugar, salt and light cream. Blend on until very smooth. Pour into a large mixing bowl and add the extract and heavy cream. Stir lightly and add the ground vanilla beans.
Refrigerate the ice cream mixture for 1 hour, then pack and freeze.
Sweet Strawberry Smoothie
Serves 2 to 3
This recipe invites you to add a little bit of cream to your strawberries, so why not add some rich decadence to your day?
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
1/2 cup whole milk
1 cup ripe, sweet strawberries stemmed and washed
1/2 cup lowfat vanilla-flavored yogurt.
2 cups ice cubes
Pour the cream and milk into the pitcher and add the strawberries, yogurt and ice cubes. Blend on until the mixture is very smooth and no fruit pieces remain. Pour into glass and serve right away.
Tip: This smoothie is the perfect "starter" recipe and probably the most favorite of all for most smoothie lovers. Change it to suit yourself by adding your favorite fruit or other sweet flavors, a little bit at a time.
